Modern Elegance in Lucan. A Fresh Take on Bathroom Renovation in Dublin
Every now and then, we get a project that’s all about transformation. Taking a tired, outdated bathroom and turning it into something clean, modern, and genuinely enjoyable to use. That was exactly the case with this Lucan home renovation, where our client wanted a complete change, not just a quick refresh.
The old bathroom had done its job for years, but it felt cramped and dated. The tiles had lost their shine, the fixtures were showing their age, and the layout just didn’t flow with how the family used the space anymore.
The Vision
From our first chat, it was clear what they were after: a bright, modern and elegant design that felt calm and contemporary, but still practical for daily family life. They wanted a walk in shower, easy-to-clean surfaces, and a finish that would last for years without feeling too “trendy”, but yet modern and cosy.
Our Process
We started with a full strip-out and reconfiguration of the layout to open up the room. To keep things light and airy, we went with large neutral porcelain tiles, both on the floor and one of the walls, creating that seamless, hotel-style look.
The shower area was upgraded to a walk-in design with a frameless glass screen, instantly making the space feel larger and more luxurious. Beneath it sits a sleek, wall‑hung vanity with a crisp white basin and slim bronze faucet that provides a warm contrast against the cool tiles.
Sleek Design
Around the vanity area, we added a band of terrazzo‑style stone tiles for subtle texture and visual interest. Above that, slender vertical wall tiles draw the eye upwards, accentuating the height of the room. Instead of a traditional mirror, we installed an arched, back‑lit mirror that softly glows around its edges, doubling as ambient lighting
The Result
The finished bathroom is a world away from the original. The mix of textures, the gentle curve of the illuminated mirror and the elegant fixtures come together to create a calm, luxurious retreat right in the heart of this Lucan home. It’s a perfect blend of style and functionality. A bathroom that looks beautiful and works hard every day.
